The ability to design keeping in mind product strategy and business it was the most valuable learning for the last year and a half as an entrepreneur. The decision to became an entrepreneur was motivated by the need to understand how to validate a business idea, create a product from scratch and making it profitable. Also, after being a consultant for years I was excited to apply my ideas and beliefs about how an organization should be, how to create a company culture and how to care and help to grow my coworkers.

BACKGROUND

I took the decision to study a B.A. in Fine Arts in order to apply my creative skills in a more theoretical and structured way. During these years I found that the best way to apply my creativity to anything was the Graphic Design. Graphic Design has a purpose, it's a visual language to communicate an idea, feeling, service, product...etc. During my Erasmus grant, I discovered how to apply my knowledge in multimedia design, web design could have the same purpose as graphic design but it was a new and huge variety of devices, a lot of different ways to use up information and interact with that. This discovery and the search about how to do it better take me to the User Experience field.

The first work experience in a User Experience Team was as a trainee consultant in everis, first as an Art Director, then as a Visual Designer. As I got involved in more projects, I needed to understand all the roles more. I started with Interaction Design and User Research. The last two years I was managing and executing end-to-end projects for several sectors:

  • The creation of a European Collaborative Platform with Fundacio la Caixa Team: RRI - Fostering Responsible Research & Innovation. Defining and designing the full social platform by doing a user research with 42 stakeholders from 26 institutions of 30 European countries which profiles as different as a Ukranian Scientists or an Italian politician.
  • Lead every internal project for the Gas Natural IT team, re-designing and creating several software applications.
To deliver MVPs of insurance products within the everis London HQ team, in order to open market in the city and create new opportinities.
  • Lead the full redesign of the private Spanish government eCommerce which has the purpose of supply services and materials to every Spanish public entity (from village councils to ministries).
  • The design of two of of the most key and used applications of Everis: The invoice entry and the allocating hours softwares for the full company.

SOFT SKILLS

  • I am an optimist by nature and this always leads me to think that there is no problem that cannot be solved.
  • I don't panic in crisis situations, I usually mediate and reach agreements by empathizing and giving constructive feedback with all parties.
  • I don't judge either ways of being or ways of working. I consider that there are different ways to reach the same result, so I empathize with different environments and people and I want the same thing for myself.
  • I'm curious and demanding. Setting aside limitations, I like to use world-class methods and tools and I always will propose to try new methods in order to improve.
  • I don't cling to ideas or products, sometimes you have to give up something that has taken a long time to develop, it's part of the process.

"Someone told me once that I am like a Swiss army knife, small, easy-going and plenty of resources."
